Chapter 6: Ryu Vs. Eagle

In front of a lighthouse in Dover, England...

Ryus opponent was dress like a waiter. His clothing was exact. He even had a respectable hair cut, and a well kept mustache. Ryu wondered if this was truly one of Englands greatest fighters.

Eagle verses Ryu, the announcer said. Fight!

Your friend may have beaten my partner, Birdie, but I wont be so easy, Eagle said.

Oh really? Ryu said, humoring Eagle. And why is that?

Because of these, Eagle said calmly, pulling out two black, lead pipes.

Weapons!? Ryu exclaimed.

Anything goes in a street fight, boy! Eagle said, charging. He swung his right pipe at Ryu who ducked it and tried to hit Eagle with his foot, but couldnt reach. Eagle grinned and let loose with his other pipe, smacking Ryu in the head, he fell back, but quickly spun back up to his feet. He put his hand up to his head where he was hit, and felt a large supply of blood leaking out.

But he wasnt given much time to worry about that, for Eagle was on the attack again. He swung one of his pipes at Ryu, who rolled to the left, dodging it and coming up Eagle to hit him from behind. But Eagle anticipated this and kicked backward, getting Ryu in the jaw. But Ryu still stood to Eagles surprise, and grabbed the english man by the neck and slammed him into the ground. Eagle then smacked Ryu in the jaw with a pipe, loosening the Shotokans grip on him. Eagle rose to his feet, but Ryu was on the attack now. With unbelievable strength Ryu uppercutted Eagle in the face, crsuhing his nose and making the english street fighter spit out a couple teeth. Ryu then came hammering down with his eblow, hitting Eagle in the collarbone. Finally, Ryu ended his onslaught with a kick to the ribs that knocked Eagle down and sent him spinning. Eagle fell to the grond, writhing in pain. But he quickly composed himself, and picked up his pipes again.

Not bad, boy, Eagle said, spitting out a little blood. But now its my turn.

Eagle charged towards Ryu, who quickly dodged to the right. But Eagle stopped in mid-dash and then started to spin himself around and outstretched his arms. Ryu was caught off-guard, and was hit full force by by the spinning pipes three times before falling to the ground in unimaginable pain.

Heh, heh, Eagle chuckled, smacking Ryus fallen body around not so powerful now, are we, bloke?

Ryu soon noticed that to his left their was a cliff, and Eagle was pushing him towards it. Ryu had to think quickly. He shook out of his daze as best he could, and waited for an opening. He easily found one, and grabbed Eagle by his suspenders, then threw him over to the other said of the lighthouse while simultaneously flipping back up to his feet.

This bloody kids got to be just about done for, Eagle thought, standing up. How the hell does he keep going?

Ryu decided to take the offensive, and charged at Eagle. He kicked high, then low, hitting Eagle with the low one. He spun around and backfisted Eagle in the arm, the punched him in the right side of his face. Eagle fell back, disengaging from Ryu. The waves splashed up a little, hitting Eagle a little, but the englishman was beyond the point of caring. He was just about down for the count.

Eagle crawled up to his feet but was immediately knocked down again by a kick to his face. Eagle could hardly stand when Ryu dashed in and finished him off with a blow to the back of the head. The match was over. Ryu had won.

The training was vigorous, and fast paced. As Ryu had predicted Gouken grew on the two boys and realized that they were not like his previous student. He taught them the basics of Shotokan, and even taught them more powerful moves such as the Whirlwind Kick, the Hell Spin, and the Dashing Punch. Gouken also loved to watch the two fight. They were both very powerful, and no matter how much Gouken tried, he could not decide who was better. But he knew that time would tell. Little did he know that his time would be cut short... A plane, over the Atlantic Ocean...

"Whatre you thinking about?" Ken asked Ryu.

Oh, just Master Gouken.

Me too. Ryu, how did he die?

I...Im not really sure, Ryu said. But whatever that man did to Gouken, it was very powerful. Goukens whole chest was...

Ryu trailed off. He couldnt go on.

Its okay buddy, Ken said. Well worry about Goukens murderer later. Right now we gotta concentrate on our next fight.

Yeah, Ryu said. Ill finally get to see America. I wonder what its really like?
