Chrono Trigger Omega

Episode 1: NightRunner

Midnight Marauder (Character Interlude 1)

Upon the snow white sanded beach, she stood triumphant. A sly and confident smile crossed her battle scarred, yet alluring face as she towered over the kneeling trio whom she had defeated, albeit barely.

"Do you yield?" she asked, folding her arms across her uniformed chest. It was an odd outfit she wore; a stark white jumpsuit with a release flap folding over the right side of the front of her tunic, running down to her waist. The decorative overlap was edged with a thin onyx rimming, which also ran across the upper front of her suit, slightly below the shoulder line, and "chevron-ing" a little before running in the same height and linear direction across her back. Her dress slacks were also ivory white; amazingly after a rumble of devastating magnitude; neither part of her two piece jumpsuit retained any stains nor damage. In addition, the color of the gloves she donned and the bow that ponytailed her long, dirty blonde hair were the same as her suit. However, the shiny, wet black dress boots she donned upon her lower legs and feet were no match to the rest of her apparel.

The woman was a tall one; standing at 61", her form was menacing and Amazonian. As deadly as she was, the blonde was just as beautiful; a magnificent body was hidden underneath the formal clothes she wore, and the fair rose color of her skin held radiance in the moonlight.

She stood before her most recent prey. Triplets. Three identical women whose only differential feature was the color of their hair; one a platinum blonde, shock-white was the color of the second, and the center vixen with her head hanging in shame, graced hair the shade of a raven. The three appeared to be as old as their young adversary, early or mid twenties, and were just as alluring, dressed in sky blue and white gowns that were designed much like those of maidens from the medieval days of England. The dresses were not the only thing out of time, though. The trio. Their attacker. The very island the four were upon. All misplaced in and out of the metaphysical wonder of time.

"We...we surrender...," the raven-haired sibling wearily lifted her head to glare into the cold green eyes of her enemy. And what strange spectacles they were, even the whites of her eyes seemed to have an emerald tint to them.

"S-such a display of power...," the snow-white haired sister wasnt the least bit angry, although her awe was obvious, "Ive never seen the likes of emanate from one mortal, let alone a human."

"Now, what would make you think that?" smirked the woman, "Im neither human, nor mortal."

"We figured that to be a possibility," spoke the blonde, "a human could never withstand the containment of such power," all three of their voices were identical as well, youthful and fair as they were.

"Dont be too sure..." mentioned the woman, "there are those who could easily prove you wrong."

"Why have you come to Avalon?" the center woman was still furious as the three arose to their feet, their ascent was synchronous, "You could have destroyed us..." she said, slowly regaining her composure, "there must be a reason you kept us alive. What do you plan to do with us?"

"Have you come to rid us of the humans and gargoyles that have defiled our home with their presence?" the blonde eagerly asked.

"Circumstance has brought me here, but I always knew I would reach here someday. My visions warned me of you three, and the usefulness you will provide me."

"What...usefulness?" asked "shock-white".

"You three lack patience," the Amazon commented, "you will learn in good time."

"If you are not human, than what are you?" the raven casually demanded.

"All you need to know is that I am a traveler of time, space, and dimension, on a mission of resurrection," she sighed, "Im not here to exterminate this place of its other inhabitants. Perish the thought, all who exist play an intricate part of my plans and I cant afford needless casualties. But I am here to present you with access to an ultimate power. The same that flows within me emanates from a source that can be used to fuel this entire island, where you draw your strength."

"Tell us more..." the brunette was becoming less agitated and much more interested, like her sisters had been already.

"I will, but first I have business to discuss with your Master," the tall sorceress said, "take me to him."

The trio of sisters nodded in agreement, whether out of fear or admiration, their former adversary didnt care. Using their remaining power, they summoned a radiant sphere of energy that had materialized in between them and the Amazon, expanding from the size of a golf ball to one with the diameter 20 feet long. Once, all were swallowed within its immense light, the sphere exploded, and all within had vanished.
